Do you know what the most ridiculous beauty product to buy is? Body scrub. If you ever decide you’ve had enough of buying 100 beauty products and that you can do with just 99, simply cut off “body scrub” from the list. Although I don’t really make my own beauty products, I always make scrub. It’s the easiest thing, it’s cheap, I already have the stuff in the house. And the best part? I can make small batches to use once or twice before being totally bored with the scent.
Since it’s Halloween month, I wanted to do a black scrub. I researched some options and came to the conclusion that poppy seeds are underrated in scrub-making, despite being naturally moisturizing and exfoliating. Then there’s chia, which we all know is amazing for you no matter how you use it. And to keep things fall-themed, I added a sprinkle of seasonal spices – cinnamon and clove – which make the scrub smell really nice.
- 2 tbsp poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp clove powder
- Mix the seeds together in a bowl.
- Add the olive oil and mix.
- Sprinkle with the spices, mixing everything together.
- To make more or less of this recipe, keep in mind that you should use 1 tbsp oil to every tbsp seeds.
