The perfect pair any time of the year: avocado and toast! It’s pretty clear, check it out! So why not celebrate everyone’s #goals couple on Valentine’s Day? These tea towels are the perfect addition to a Valentine’s or Galentine’s brunch, they make a cute gift, and they’re un-seasonal enough that you’ll enjoy having them even after February 14th. Of course, if tea towels aren’t your thing, you can use these cuties to print on a top, a tote bag, or any textile surface you can iron. Here we go:
What you need:
- fabric napkins or tea towels in plain color (the material should be ironable)
- iron-on paper
- free printable avocado and toast
The first step is to print the two pdf files on iron-on paper. Make sure that the paper is compatible with your printer (inkjet paper for inkjet printer and laser for laser). If you need to, make a test on regular paper beforehand, so that you don’t accidentally print on the wrong side.
Cut out the avocado and toast shapes, leaving just a few millimeters border around each one. Then arrange them on the tea towels to decide on your pattern. The towels I used are 45 cm on each side, so I used a 5 x 5 pattern, alternating between avocado and toast.
Once you have your pattern, iron any wrinkles from your fabric and arrange the papers face down. Iron-on according to the instructions on your paper (different papers will have different instructions, so there’s no one-fits-all tutorial for this part). When every figure is set, you can remove the back paper. I don’t recommend removing the paper before finishing all the figures because you might accidentally put the hot iron over a design and melt it.
