I don’t have a lot of good things to say about oily skin. But I do have a thing or two to say about clay masks. First off, clay is a little gross, and it smells earthy. I like that for some reason, but not everyone does. What people like is that clay pulls out impurities from the skin, which makes it a sought after ingredient in acne and blackhead products.
Then we have rose water, which smells nice and balances out the scent of the clay. It also tones the skin and cools it, which can be great when your skin is not feeling/looking all that great. Mix these two ingredients and you have a great way to relax and improve your complexion at the same time. Even better if you just did a steam beforehand!
Clay mask for oily skin
- 3 tsp clay powder
- 1-2 tsp rose water
Place the clay in a bowl. Gradually add the rose water, mixing enough of it to get the consistency of cream.
Apply to damp skin, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for about 10 minutes, until the clay starts to dry. Take advantage of this phase to pop some cucumber slices on your eyes, they feel nice and they help with puffiness. Rinse with plenty of water and follow with your favorite moisturizer.
